Berkley

Known for its small-town appeal, the City of Berkley is a place where you will find a warm atmosphere throughout its neighborhoods. Within close proximity to major entertainment, business and healthcare amenities, there is no doubt why it was the only Michigan city named as one of Money Magazine’s top 50 Best Places to Live in the U.S. in 2015. To further enhance its appeal, the city’s tree-lined streets and excellent school district attracts new families and visitors every day.

After a long day at work or school, residents and visitors can enjoy unique shops, novelties and restaurants in the city’s Downtown District. So, if you’re hungry for a great meal, looking for a special gift or simply running an afternoon errand, Berkley’s Downtown District has it all, including free parking!

Berkeley School District is made up of a childcare/early education center, four elementary schools, one middle school, one high school and one International Baccalaureate World School. Students may also opt to attend the International Academy, a public, tuition-free high school of choice for students of 20 Oakland County school districts collaborating in consortium with university and business partners or participate in vocational education offered through Oakland Schools.

The Berkley School District serves more than 4,500 students ranging in age from newborn through adulthood for people living in Berkley, Huntington Woods and a section of Oak Park. Additionally, they host a limited number of students from neighboring districts who participate in the state’s School of Choice program.
